WHO WE ARE

LOCOMOTIVE was founded in 2023 by Sam Coare, a journalist, editor and consultant with approaching 20 years in the media and music industries.

 

As the former Editor of Kerrang! and Managing Director of Alternative Press, he has worked on both sides of the Atlantic to help build artist careers through narrative storytelling, speaking to global audiences across a broad array of platforms.

Sam's work has seen him build and lead teams; edit hundreds of editions of magazines; organise and present industry-leading award ceremonies; host interview events; curate and book live music content strands; run a weekly radio show; and write countless cover stories.

 

One of the most respected voices in the rock and alternative music media field, he is regularly sought to advise, strategise and create content for artists on major labels, their subsidiaries, and independents.
